Since I'm back up and running here, this feels like the right place to put up a post for Small Success Thursday. For the unfamiliar, this is a weekly checkin on little ways in which we've accomplished things during the past week. I've been very bad about participating because I've been overthinking the process.
Instead of writing a novel, I'm just going to write my three SSs and leave it at that. Here goes:
1. Packed a kid -- Eric (our eldest, a recent college grad) left for his new home in New York City this week. Instead of rolling around on the floor sobbing (which is what I felt like doing), I washed his laundry, sorted huge stacks of clothes, and quietly helped him pack his bags. Then I drove Eric and my husband Greg to the airport for their "move in trip" while I remained home to pick up younger brother from music camp. I successfully didn't burst into tears until they were already out of the car and safely at the check in line. I call that a big success.
2. Started lap swimming -- I've been looking for a new form of daily exercise that is not too much of a strain on my aging body. Read a bit about my solution here.
3. Wrote. Read. Proofed. Blogged. Pondered. Lots and lots of words have passed through my brain in the past few days. I'm home alone, but have been having an ongoing dialogue in my head. So it doesn't feel very quiet at all.
